After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the extension of lockdown and appealed to go local and be vocal about, some sections of the public welcomed it. But, at the same time, there are people who opposed it as well. Indie filmmaker Tharun Bhascker also came in support of this appeal and posted about this on his social handles expressing that he second the statement of Modi. Now, it had some repercussions which he wasn't prepared for. People & his followers mocked him for his post saying that he himself uses a variety of global brands and live off a cosy lifestyle and he himself is indulged to maintain 'Facade' and got bashed for his hypocritical post.
In response to this, he wrote up a post. 'The first reactions to the initiative of going local are met with witty remarks, negativity. Yes, the social media platforms we use are global brands. Yes, I'm guilty of using a lot of global brands without thought and YES ! You cynical intellects are super funny and deserve all the cheap attention but make some space in your heart and minds for some tolerance for change. Allow the system to adjust to change and let's work together in the right direction with little optimism. We'll figure it out eventually' wrote Tharun in the post.
Although his post seems to be hypocritical, this response of him seems to make sense. As he said we may need to bore patience to get through this successfully.
