It is being speculated that actor Jr NTR and director Trivikram Srinivas had an alleged rift due to ego clashes and a film in their combination was shelved abruptly. While insiders say that the delay in the completion of RRR is the primary reason for their spat, others say it was due to NTR agreeing to host his television comeback show, Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu.
source close to the development revealed to us that Trivikram was extremely unhappy over NTR prioritizing the television show over his film and him allocating the dates for the Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu has triggered anger for the director. These developments coupled with his long wait for the actor to kick-start the proceedings for their film has compelled him to choose Mahesh Babu over the Janata Garage actor.
"Trivikram was miffed with NTR taking things for granted and not setting a deadline to complete a film in their combination. Although the actor put the blame on RRR, his actions speak otherwise. Trivikram, on the other hand, wanted to complete NTR's film in 180 days and move on to another project. However, the sudden outbreak of Covid-19 and NTR's unexpected commitment to Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu didn't go down too well with Trivikram, and eventually, the director has decided to drop this film and direct Mahesh in his next," says a source.
Trivikram's film with Mahesh is expected to go on floors in September, while NTR's next being helmed by Koratala Siva will commence the shooting in October.
