The Man in the High Castle first premiered in 2015. It tells the story of a parallel world where the Axis powers (Germany and Japan) won the second world war and rule the world with an iron fist. It follows various perspectives and covers the ideologies of both the resistance and the Nazis. The show portrayed reality in a unique way and did not focus simply on just a single protagonist.
The show bases on a book by the same name. The Man in the High Castle ran its final episode on Amazon Prime only recently with a conclusive season 4. The show ended with the death of John Smith, the leader of the German forces in America. After the death of all other German officials, Juliana Crane comes out not as victorious as one would expect. The Nazi rule is crumbling and so is the Japanese empire but that doesn't mean a victory for anyone. The show closes on an open ended note where the audience can only guess the fate of the resistance and all others.
While some accepted the show's ending as a clever way to interact with its audience many disliked it for its open endedness. There is however no doubt that the show did its fans justice even at the end, unlike other larger shows like Game of Thrones that also ended this year.
