History has got made today in the 92 years of Academy Awards. For the first time, a non-English film has won the Best Picture Award in Oscars this year and that honor went to the South Korean film Parasite. Directed by Bong Joon-ho, this film has got nominated in six categories and won four of them.
Parasite won Oscars for Best Original Screenplay, Best International Film, Best Director and the Best Picture. It is the only film in the history of Oscars to bag both the Best International Film and Best Picture Awards. That proves the cinematic brilliance of this film and how much love got showered on it by the people across the globe.
The eight other contenders which were in the Best Picture's race were Ford Vs Ferrari, The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit, Joker, Little Women, Marriage Story, 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The whole cast and crew came on the stage to receive the Best Picture Award. They thanked the Korean audience and the audiences across the world for accepting their film whole-heartedly. Parasite also won Palm O' dor at Cannes 2019, won the Best Foreign Film at Golden Globes. Now, Oscars became another jewel in its crown.
