Three episodes of the hit show Amrutham Dhvitheeyam will air on ZEE5 on May 27th

Amrutham was a 2001 TV series. The makers of Amrutham have reprised the comedy series for the digital platform ZEE5. The comedy show now has 3 episodes on the platform. The makers will air 3 new special episodes on 27th May. The new episodes are lockdown specials shot at the homes of the actors!

 
With the demands for OTT content raising during the lockdown, the makers have come up with a special set of episodes. The three episodes are centered around the lockdown. The makers say that the episodes are situation humour episodes based on the current lockdown situation. Actors Harshavardhan, LB Sriram, Sivannarayana, and Vasu Inturi will star in these episodes.
 
Amrutham was a hit comedy of the early 2000s. It first aired in the year 2001. The show starred Sivaji Raja, Naresh, Harshavardhan, and Gundu Hanumatha Rao. Many of the actors have reprised their roles in the new rendition. The show ran successfully for 6 whole years! The story revolves around Amrutham and Anji who try to improve their businesses but often fail.
 
The show returned after 13 years. But this time it was an OTT Original. Gunnam Gangaraju is producing the show. The ZEE5 Original started streaming on ZEE5 on March 27, 2020. The show has gained popularity for its comic timing and nostalgic effect. The actors and the director Sudeep released were a part of a video conference. The team released the trailer at the conference. The cast and crew spoke of their experiences of shooting the show!
 
Recently, director SS Rajamouli took to Twitter to express his appreciation for the original sitcom. He spoke of the brilliance of the show. He did so when the ZEE5 rendition was announced earlier this year.
