Srihari was born near Vijayawada, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. His parents were from Gudivada. They moved to Hyderabad and settled in Balanagar when he was still a child. Srihari married South Indian actress Shanti, popularly known as Disco Shanti, in 1991. The couple has two sons and a daughter. Their daughter, Akshara, died when she was just four months old. The family started the Akshara Foundation in her memory, which aims to supply villages with fluoride-free water and students with school supplies. He also adopted four villages in Medchal. He passed away on October 9, 2013, at the age of 49 after suffering a liver ailment.
Srihari started his career as a stunt fighter. He started his on-screen career with the movie Bhrama Nayudu in the year 1987 and later acted in about 100 films. In his complete film career, Srihari won the hearts of many audiences.
Some of his outstanding and remarkable performances can be witnessed in Brindavanam, Don Seenu, Samudram, Broker, King, Mahanandi, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Dhee, Simhachalam, Deva, Sambayya, and Magadheera.
His wife Disco Shanti, is planning an onscreen adaptation of the late actor's life in which his son is expected to play the role of late actor Srihari. It is likely to be directed by a prominent filmmaker. The biopic hopefully can bring back memories of the actor Srihari and soothes the hearts of his admirer that are missing him.
