Even after two weeks of its release, Tovino Thomas starrer Thallumaala has a good screen count. The film Thallumaala hit the theatres on August 12 and was released on 231 screens in Kerala alone. Entering its third week, Thallumaala has continued to run on 164 of these screens. Not in recent times has a Malayalam film entered the third week with so many screens.
Meanwhile, along with Kerala, the film Thallumaala reached other states and foreign markets on August 12 itself. Thallumaala had a huge global release in the US, Canada, UK, Singapore, Africa, Saudi Arabia, UAE, GCC, and Europe. The Indian release had the best screen count in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It is a film that has received good word-of-mouth publicity since the day of its release. Unofficial estimates were that the global gross for the first four days would be Rs. 31 crore. The official box office figures for the film are yet to come out.
The film Thallumaala is directed by Khalid Rahman and written by Mohsin Parari and Ashraf Hamza. Thallumaala is produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions. Shine Tom Chacko, Lukman, Chemban Vinod Jose, Johnny Anthony, Austin, and Asim Jamal are playing other important characters. Tovino appears as a twenty-year-old in the film. Tovino's lead character is called Manavalan Wasim. Kalyani's character's name is Beepathu. Major scenes of the movie were shot in Dubai, Thalassery, and Kannur.
