Director K. Viswanath turned 91 today. He makes sure his film delivers all kind of emotions and aspects that are needed in a film for audiences to like. On the occasion of his birthday, here is a tribute to him.

Directorial debut
K Viswanath made his directorial debut with Aatma Gowravam which is a family drama. The story of the film was written by Gollapudi Maruthi Rao and Bhamidipati Radhakrishna. The film is all about a Zamindar who adopts a farmer's brother to inherit his property against his wife’s wish as he doesn’t have a child. The film has been made based on the novel of the same name by Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani. Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Kanchana and Rajasree played the lead roles in the film.
Nindu Hrudayalu… this film is another gem of cinema. NT Rama Rao, Sobhan Babu and Vanisri played the lead roles in this film. Directed by Viswanath, the plot revolves around the avenge of a youngster whose father is brutally killed by a deadly gangster. You will fall in love with the film every time you watch it. TV Raju’s beautiful music gives you the best feel of the film. It is worth mentioning that it was K Viswanath's breakthrough work in the initial days of his career.
A masterpiece
Sankarabharanam… this film needs no introduction. Considered to be a masterpiece of Telugu cinema, Sankarabharanam is all about an exceptional bond between a devout and famous classical singer his admirer Tulasi, daughter of a prostitute. This film went on to receive several awards, including the Best Film with Mass Appeal, Wholesome Entertainment & Aesthetic Values, the first for a South-Indian film at the 27th National Film Awards. Internationally, the film was screened at the 8th International Film Festival of India, the Tashkent Film Festival, the Asia Pacific Film Festival, the Moscow International Film Festival, and the AISFM Film Festival.
Much-needed message
Megastar Chiranjeevi and K. Viswanath are the best guru and sishya Jodi you can find in the Telugu film industry. Subhaleka film is Viswananth’s comedy-drama featuring Chiranjeevi and Sumalatha. Later, Chiranjeevi and Viswanath worked together for Swayamkrushi and Aapadbandhavudu as well. Both films are blockbuster hits. Ace actor Sudhakar made his acting debut with this flick, giving him the screen name "Subhalekha" Sudhakar. Said to be inspired by famous writer Gurazada Venkata Apparao's work Kanyasulkam, Subhalekha dealt with the social malady of the dowry system.
