After the success of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Mani Ratnam has buried himself in his office to make sure that his dream project Ponniyin Selvan gets a much-needed push. His hard work didn’t go in vain as the film is all set to go on floors in January 2020, according to sources.
Ponniyin Selvan based on the novel written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The boats an ensemble cast including Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Keerthy Suresh and several others. Earlier, it was reported that Nayanthara got roped in as well.
However, it looks like Nayanthara has opted out of the project due to unknown reasons. Instead, the makers are now considering Trisha to play one of the roles. As per the reports, talks have begun too. An official confirmation might come soon.
Mani Ratnam hasn’t officially confirmed anything about Ponniyin Selvan yet. He is a man who doesn’t believe in making formal announcements. The pre-production work is underway
