Rajinikanth's Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss, is all set to grace the screens on January 9. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions on a huge scale, the film will release in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. As the film is gearing up for a grand release, there is a minor hiccup.
Any big film of leading heroes is facing last-minute struggles these days. Reportedly, a Malaysia-based company had filed a case against the producers of Darbar
requesting the stoppage of film. The petition revealed that the makers should repay a huge amount of 24 crores.
The case had heard recently and the judges recently pronounced their judgment. On hearing the case, the judges ordered the producers to deposit the amount of Rs 4 crore and 90 lakh for the film to release in Malaysia. Lyca Productions are yet to respond to the latest controversy.
Darbar features an ensemble star cast including Nayanthara, Suneil Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Nivetha Thomas and Yogi Babu in the lead roles. The technical crew of the film includes composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Santosh Sivan and editor Sreekar Prasad.
