Trolls frequently target Bigg Boss OTT star and actress Uorfi Javed due to her unconventional fashion choices. Uorfi, meanwhile, has never been afraid to face trolls who threaten to rape and kill her. This time, though, the issue extended beyond tweets and Instagram stories. A man in Mumbai was recently detained after it was claimed that he threatened Uorfi Javed with rape and her life.
The man was detained by Goregaon police on Wednesday morning, according to a report by ANI. He has been identified as Naveen Giri. He has been accused of violating the Indian Penal Code and IT Act sections 354(A) (sexual harassment), 354(D) (stalking), 509, and 506 (criminal intimidation). According to the report, Naveen sent the social media influencer threatening messages over WhatsApp. More information on the arrest is awaited.
Uorfi Javed has been in the news a lot during the past few months. Javed was reportedly arrested by Dubai police yesterday for filming in "public places" while wearing "revealing clothes". The police had visited the scene due to logistical problems, Uorfi revealed in a statement she made on Thursday morning.
In her statement, Uorfi said, “The police had arrived to stop the shoot because of some issues at the location. There was a time till when we were allowed to shoot as it was a public place, the production team didn’t extend the timing, hence we had to leave. It had nothing to do with my clothes at all. We shot the remaining part the next day so it was all sorted.”
