UV Krishnam Raju Demise: PM Narendra Modi Extends His Condolences

Veteran Telugu actor and political leader, UV Krishnam Raju (83), passed away. He had been ill for some time, and the cause of his death was a heart attack. He died at 3:25 a.m. today at AIG Hospital, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Krishnam Raju is the elder brother of young Telugu actor Prabhas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences through his official Twitter account. PM Modi wrote on Twitter that he is “saddened by the passing away of UV Krishnam Raju Garu.”

Krishnam Raju entered politics through the BJP in the late nineties. He was the Union Minister of State in the Vajpayee government. In 2009, he joined Chiranjeevi's political party Prajarajyam Party. He faced defeat in the contested elections.
 
On Sunday morning, Krishnam Raju passed away in a hospital in Hyderabad. According to a PTI report, he had post-Covid-19 illnesses. In Telugu films, he was referred to as the Rebel Star. In the 1970s and 1980s, he appeared in a number of popular movies, including Krishnaveni, Sati Savitri, Rangoon Rowdy, Dharmaatmudu, and Antima Theerpu. Meanwhile, Radheshyam, who came with Prabhas, was the last film he starred in.
