Varalakshmi who has been busy in the Tamil industry with continuous projects. She entertained the masses with her powerful roles in Sarkar, Sandakozhi2, Maari2, Sathya. She is gearing up to woo the Kannada audience with the movie Ranam. Varalakshmi debuted into Kannada films with the movie Maanikya starring Kichcha Sudeep and also acted with Arjun Sarja in the movie Vismaya. Ranam will be her third Kannada film in which she will be seen as a CBI officer.
V Samudra who is known for this commercial port boiler directorial in Telugu cinema all set to direct a bilingual film titled Ranam. This film features Chiranjeevi Sarja as an encounter specialist and Chethan as a revolutionist. Dev Gill also joins the cast. Varalakshmi and Dev Gill will be playing CBI officer roles. A huge set has been erected to shoot some important chase scenes on Varalakshmi and Dev Gill near Minerva Mills. This particular stunt canned by noted action choreographer Thriller Manju. It was told almost 10 lacs been spent per day to shoot this massive action block. Makers planned 9 days schedule to complete this action sequence and shooting will be done till Sunday.
V Samudra debuting into Kannada films with Ranam. This movie will be released in Kannada and Telugu simultaneously. Nithu Gowda will play the female lead role. Chethan who is playing revolutionist role, inspired by Che Guevera an Argentine Marxist revolutionist. Gurukiran to score music for this film and Niranjan Babu will be handling the camera.
