Veteran Actor Mandeep Roy Passes Away

Mandeep Roy, a popular Sandalwood actor, has passed away. On Sunday morning, he died of a massive heart attack. He was 72. Mandeep was being treated in a private hospital after suffering a heart attack in December.

 
Mandeep has appeared in over 500 films over the course of his career. Mandeep's daughter Akshatha told a news website that he will be laid to rest at Hebbal crematorium today. The mortal remains of Mandeep Roy have been preserved for public viewing.
 
Several Sandalwood actors have expressed their condolences on the death of Mandeep Roy. The veteran actor debuted in Sandalwood with the 1981 film Minchina Oota. And he was mostly seen in comic roles. The actor came to the cinema from a background in theatre. Mandeep Roy has roots in Bengal and is part of a family that migrated to Karnataka. He is based in Bengaluru. The actor had made a name for himself through his comic timing. Mandeep Roy was the late actor Shankar Nag's close friend and had even worked with Rajkumar and Anant Nag.
 
Benkiya Balle, Akashmika, and Yelu Suthika Kote are his most popular films. Geetha, Accident, Aasegobba Meesegobba, Kushi, Amrithadhare, and Kurigaalu Saar Kurugaalu are also among his notable films.
 
Another senior actor, Lakshman, who has appeared in over 300 Kannada films, died of a heart attack recently. Lakshman was taken to a hospital in Nagarabhavi after complaining of chest pain. He was returned to his home after receiving treatment, where he died.
