Versatile actor Dhanush enjoys a wide fan base across Tamil Nadu. His combination with director Vetrimaaran is one of the best combos in the Tamil film industry. The duo has earlier delivered hit films like Pollandhavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai and Asuran.
They recently teamed up for the fourth time for the movie, Asuran and it became a huge hit across Tamilnadu. Touted to be a rural action drama, Asuran released on the 4th of October. According to the Kollywood reports, the film has become one of the highest grossers in the career of Dhanush. Malayalam actress Manju Warrier made her Tamil debut with this film.
Meanwhile, both Dhanush and Vetrimaaran have announced that Vada Chennai will be a trilogy. They said that Vada Chennai 2 will hit the screens in 2020 but it is most unlikely to happen as of now.Apparently, Vetrimaaran is yet to finish the script works of the film.
According to the sources, the director will take the film on the floors at the end of 2021. This proves that Vada Chennai 2 will only hit the theatres in 2022 or 2023. The director takes quite a long gap between each of his films and he is following the same route for this film as well. Aishwarya Rajesh, Kishore, Samuthirakani and Andrea played the other key roles in Vada Chennai. They will reprise their roles in the sequel as well.
