The film 'Viduthalai,' directed by Vetrimaaran, stars Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, and Bhavani Sre in prominent roles. The film is produced by Elred Kumar under the banners of RS Infotainment. The film is adapted from the short story Thunaivan written by Jeyamohan. The film was shot in several places in Tamil Nadu, with the last planned shoot expected to begin soon.
Surya, Vijay Sethupathi's son, is allegedly poised to join the film's cast and play one of the crucial roles. According to speculations, Surya, who made his debut in 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' as a minor character, would portray the part of a tribal youngster in 'Viduthalai.'
Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, and Kishore also play significant parts in the film. Gautham Menon, according to reports, is playing the role of a police officer. 'Viduthalai' is a crime thriller, and principal photography began in 2019 with Kishore leading as the DOP. The film's soundtrack is composed by Ilaiyaraaja in his maiden collaboration with Vetrimaaran.
Viduthalai is Vijay Sethupathi's first collaboration with Vetrimaaran.
The first trailer for the film was revealed in April 2021, and it is currently slated to be released around the end of this year.
Regarding other work projects, Vetrimaaran will begin filming for the film 'Vaadivaasal,' starring Suriya, in August.
