Vikram Reveals New Look For Pa Ranjith Movie

In his first tweet, actor "Chiyaan" Vikram, who is also known as Chiyaan, sent a video to his admirers on the microblogging website Twitter. For his upcoming period drama with director Pa. Ranjith, Chiyaan 61 (tentative title), Vikram was spotted sporting an all-beard look.

Addressing his fans on twitter, he said, "Hi. Vanakkam to everyone, this is me Chiyaan Vikram. Truly this is me (laughs). I'm not in disguise. Oh by the way, this (points to his beard) - I'm getting ready for Ranjith's film. So no need to worry. This is not a disguise."

Kolar Gold Fields serves as the backdrop for the film Chiyaan 61. The movie, which is being produced by Studio Green and has music by GV Prakash, is based on a few true events that happened in India during the British Raj in the 19th century.

On July 16, a puja ceremony was held to officially introduce Vikram's next film, Chiyaan61. At the occasion, Vikram looked sharp. It may be a new look for his persona that he had long hair and a full beard when he was seen during the ceremony. The movie marks the first time Vikram and Pa Ranjith have worked together. This movie is expected to be an action drama set in the past. To conform to the demands of his character, Vikram had to go through a rigorous training programme.

 The actor will also appear in the film Dhruva Natchathiram, which is slated for an August release. Both the writing and directing for this production are by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Vikram and Gautham's commitments caused a significant delay in the release of the film. Additionally, Mani Ratnam's massive epic Ponniyin Selvan Part 1—which is scheduled to hit theatres on September 30—will feature a crucial role for Vikram.
