Warner Bros. has finally undone the curtain behind the release dates for some of its big upcoming films. As announced by the studio, the untitled Matrix sequel will be releasing on May 21, 2021. On the other hand, fans of Ezra Miller's Flash will have to wait a bit longer. The standalone Flash film will be releasing on July 1, 2022.
Another big announcement that Warner Bros. made revealed news about their Akira remake. The film which will be a direct remake of the famous manga was previously supposed to release on the date that Matrix is now occupying. The delay happened as a result of director Taika Waititi. Waititi signed a deal with Marvel to direct the fourth Thor film and the Akira film got delayed. The film still doesn't have a release date yet.
The Matrix sequel starring Keanu Reeves will be going against its own lead star's other famous film John Wick Chapter 4. Matrix 4 will get directed by Lana Wachowski. The Flash on the other hand currently has Andy Muschietti sitting on the director's chair. The film is looking to start shooting next year.
