Sonakshi Sinha recalls her experience of being fat-shamed, says 'People still troll me for my weight after losing so many kilos'

Sonakshi Sinha made her successful debut in Bollywood opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg. Even though she was a star kid, her struggle of losing weight in order to become an actress is remarkable. Recently during an interview, Sonakshi recalls the time when she was bullied and fat-shamed in her school. She said, "You know, I was always an overweight child. I used to be 95 kilos in school. People bullied me, and the boys called me names.”

However, the Mission Mangal actress did not let all the bullying because of her weight affect her even when she was younger. “I never took the bullying to heart. And I didn’t let it bring me down because I’ve always known there’s much more to me than my weight or my size, she added.

For her role in Dabangg, Sonakshi went through rigorous workout and fitness techniques and she's proud she made it to where she wanted to be. "It was a huge achievement for me. And I was so proud of myself. But people were still talking about how much I weighed and how I looked! Eventually, I told myself that I wouldn’t let them bring me down because they had no idea what I had been through, how hard I had worked to get here. And, in the end, it really didn’tmatter what they thought. They were not the ones in a big-ticket Bollywood film, I was!” said the33-years old actress.

Amitabh Bachchan pens a special post about an old gulmohar tree rooted in his Mumbai bungalow Prateeksha

Mumbai rains are often devastating to its citizens. Not only does it hinder people's ordinary lives but it also leaves many trees uprooted and fallen to the ground. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that an old Gulmohar tree had to be removed from his garden due to the recent rains. Now the actor has taken to Instagram to share the story of the tree and his house Prateeksha.

On his blog, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "The day in 1976 we moved into the first house that this generation had ever bought and built, and called its own .. it was planted as a sapling, a mere few inches in its height .. in the middle of the lawn that surrounded the property. A Palace in the desert land of the North” had given him the inspiration to plant it where he wanted it to be."

Amitabh Bachchan also said that entire generations of his family have lived around the tree. He wrote, "The children grew up around it .. as did the grandchildren .. their birthdays and the festivities of festivals all decorated this GulMohar beautiful tree, with its bright orange flowers that bloomed during the summer .. the children did get married just a few feet away from it .. and it stood guardian above them .. its branches bowed down with the weight of grief and sorrow when the elders passed away .. Babuji, Maa Ji .. their prayer meet on the 13th and the 12th day after the passing all within its shadow of grief .. the Holika .. the burning of the evil forces a day before the celebrations of Holi, burnt about it .. as did all the lights of Deepavali adorn its branches .. the pooja’s of Satyanarayan and the havans for peace and prosperity, within its watchful grace."

Amitabh Bachchan recently starred in Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo alongside Ayushmann Khurrana.

Actor and BJP MP Roopa Ganguly says she is going to boycott certain Bollywood celebrities who are products of nepotism

Roopa Ganguly has a very strong point to make regarding Bollywood celebrities. Ganguly is distraught by the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and has said that she will boycott certain celebrities. In an interview with IANS Roopa Ganguly said, "I will not watch films of certain people after this. Because they have given a message to the country that boys and girls from small towns should not come to the industry. Nepotism will be there everywhere. Parents can help their children. But it should not be practiced in a way so that some people are pushed to death."

Roopa Ganguly also said that she thinks there is foul play involved in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. She said, "Without getting a suicide note, or any stool/chair or anything in the room with which he can hang himself, the police came to the conclusion (that it was suicide). Instead of calling it an accidental death, the police makes a statement that it is suicide. The narrative was set a few days ago that he was going through depression. That has raised a big question in our minds. Without a suicide note, how did police call it a suicide even before the postmortem?"

She added saying, "I am not raising question on Mumbai Police's capability, but I feel investigation by a central agency like the CBI would be more unbiased. Why should the police department consider it as an insult to take help from other agencies? If they are so sure that it is suicide then they should actually call the CBI to prove it to us."
