Interestingly, Mahesh Babu seems to have predicted that Maharshi would be bagging the national award back in 2017 itself. The director of Maharshi, Vamshi Paidipally’s latest tweet suggests the same.
“NationalFilmAwards2019.. @urstrulyMahesh Sir... Your faith and trust in #Maharshi made it what it is today..sharing a screengrab that reflects your faith in #Maharshi way back in 2017 when I won my Filmfare for "Oopiri"... All your words came true..Thank You Sir..,” Vamsi tweeted. He also added a screengrab of his WhatsApp conversation with Mahesh Babu pertaining to the same.
“NationalFilmAwards2019.Thank You @hegdepooja @allarinaresh Sir @prakashraaj garu #Jayasudha garu #Jagapathibabu Garu @KUMohanan1 #Sunilbabu @ahishor @HariRgv for making #Maharshi possible... CONGRATULATIONS #Rajusundaram Master for winning the best choreographer award,” Vamsi added while he congratulated the cast and crew.
Speaking about the national award, Mahesh said he is honoured and humbled to have received the award. “ Maharshi will always remain very special. Proud of @directorvamshi for bringing a socially relevant story to light. Big thank you to the jury, the entire team of Maharshi and our audience,” he said.
Maharshi hit the big screens in 2019 and was one of the highest grossing films of the year. Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies, and PVP Cinemas bankrolled the film.
