Why Anil Kapoor won’t interfere with Karan Johar’s film Takht

In a career that has reached almost 4 decades, Anil Kapoor has experimented with almost every genre except a period drama. This is his first time doing so as he stars in Karan Johar’s Takht.

The film stars Anil as Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Reports say that Vicky will essay the role of Aurangzeb and Ranveer will portray Dara, Aurangzeb’s elder brother. The film’s story revolves around the enmity between the brothers over becoming successors to the throne.
Recently, Anil talked to a daily about being a part of the film. He said that he has never done a film on such an “epic scale” before. “Filmmakers who do their homework make actors’ jobs easy,” he said, adding that Karan is one of them. He also said that KJo directs one movie in five years, and so, he doesn’t want to interfere in the process at all. “Karan is putting a lot of effort into perfecting the script.” the senior actor concluded.
