Tammareddy Bharadwaja was born and brought up in the city of Hyderabad. He pursued graduation from Osmania University. After that, he worked as a civil engineer for a brief period. After deciding to get into films, he made his debut in 1979 with the movie Kothala Raayudu. He was the producer of this movie. Starring Chiranjeevi and Madhavi in the lead roles, this film became a success at the box office. In the next year, he produced another film called Mogudu Kavali. This film featured Chiranjeevi and Gayatri in the lead roles.
Bharadwaja made his directorial debut with the 1989 film Manmadha Samrajyam. Later he directed many films like Alajadi, Neti Dourjanyam, Kadapa Redamma, Urmila, Pachani Samsaram, Atha Nee Koduku Jagratha and Swarnamukhi. He co-produced the 1998 super hit film Anthapuram. Directed by Krishna Vamshi, this movie became a blockbuster hit at the box office. It also won critical acclaim and many awards as well. The film brought a lot of fame to the whole team.
In 2005, Bharadwaja made Pothe Poni with Siva Balaji and Sindhu Tulani in the lead roles. It won two Nandi Awards including one for the Best Feature Film. His last directorial venture was the 2014 release Prathighatana.
