After the success of iSmart Shankar, director Puri Jagannath has decided to team up with Rowdy hero Vijay Deverakonda on his next film. The duo has teamed up for the film Fighter, which will go on floors next week. The sources claimed that Puri is making this film with a pan-Indian appeal.
Ever since the project got announced, it was being speculated that Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor will play the female lead in this movie. According to the sources, Janhvi Kapoor demanded a whopping remuneration of more Rs. 3.5 crores and the producers of Fighter had also agreed for it. But eventually, the Dhadak actress moved out of the film as she couldn't schedule the dates for this film. Janhvi is currently packed with too many projects in hand.
If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, another Bollywood beauty Ananya Pandey has got signed up as the heroine now. Puri is thinking that Ananya's popularity will help the film to do well in the North Indian circuit. An official announcement regarding her inclusion will be out soon. Ananya made her debut last year with Student of the Year 2 and later acted in Pati Patni Aur Woh, as well.
