If the ongoing grapevine is anything to go by, we might witness young heroines Nivetha Thomas and Regina Cassandra will play lead roles in the Telugu remake of Korean action-comedy, Midnight Runners. They will play the roles of buddy cops in this movie.
According to the sources, Sudheer Varma will direct this movie. Suresh Babu and Sunita Thati will bankroll it together. Both the producers came up with Oh Baby last year, which is an official remake of Korean flick Miss Granny. Now, they are coming up with another Korean remake.
Midnight Runners is the story of two cops who find themselves in the mystery of a kidnapping case. The original had male leads and in the remake, we will have female leads. The makers are quite confident that Regina and Nivetha will slay in their respective roles. This will be the first film in the combination. Regina was last seen in the super-hit film Evaru and Nivetha recently played a key role in Superstar Rajinikanth's Darbar.
After Swami Rara, Sudheer Varma is yet to score a hit. Even his last film Ranarangam remained a box-office failure. He is planning to strike back hard with this movie. Stay tuned for more updates on it.
