Venkatesh makes you laugh out loud
Venky (Venkatesh) does not have a family and is looking forward to creating one by marrying a girl. While he is on the lookout, he finds love in Harika (Tamannaah), who is not interested in marrying into a family for obvious reasons. On the other hand, Varun (Varun Tej) is a happy-go-lucky, who is madly in love with Harika’s sister Honey (Mehreen Pirzada).
Coming to know of their love, their family gets them engaged and is keen on getting them married soon. However, Venky and Varun, who they call themselves Cobras (co-brothers-in-law), feel that they’re not happy after all with these women and flee to another country. However, Harika and Honey do not give up and take revenge. What happens to Venky and Varun? Will they reunite with their lovers? These questions are answered in the second half.
Victory Venkatesh is honestly the best part of F2. He is completely in his element and manages to keep the audience in splits for the most part of the first half of the film. Literally, he has emerged victorious with this film.
Varun Tej is getting better with every film. If his performance in Tholi Prema and Antariksham was memorable, so does his earnest performance in F2. His Telangana dialect was good at most places.
Tamannaah and Mehreen Pirzada light up the screen and it looks like they had fun being part of this movie.
Director Anil Ravipudi has cleverly chosen Venkatesh to play the lead role that requires to do a comic performance. The first half is predictable, but the brilliantly written comedy sequences are a huge advantage to the film.
Venkatesh plays just another guy from next door. But, he stole the show with his brilliant performance. Not just with dialogues, he also aced the body language which made people laugh out loud in theatre.
Varun Tej could have gone unnoticed before Venkatesh, but he has performed well to be noticeable in the crowd, which shows how long he has come in his career.
Priyadarshi, in a brief role, is just a revelation in F2. He nails Telangana dialect and he looked comfortable in his role.
The story of F2 does not offer anything new. It is a clichéd story that been shown in films for the past two decades. It could have nice if Anil Ravipudi packed some interesting stuff in the screenplay.
Also, the movie constantly shows how women are always nagging. In short, the film was more about how men are innocent. The plot could have been treated little differently. However, those who enjoy jokes about marriage and wives, this film would be perfect for them.
The second half of F2 is a massive let-down as the story travels haphazardly. Needless songs and sequences slow down the pace.
F2 is an absolute must-watch for its hilarious comedy sequences in the first half. If you are looking for a fun entertainer, then this should be your pick for this Pongal.
