Another proof that India is fast emerging on the global platform. The speedy growth in foreign shores is signaling that India has processed 13 percent more visas when compared to the previous year. An oofing number of applicants enrolled for visa i.e, 52.8 lakh applications have been processed in 2018.
Termed as Tier-2 cities, Agra, Lucknow, Nagpur which fall have conferred largely to the rise in outbound travel though they had a decline in growth, especially in Jalandhar and Chandigarh. Tier-1 cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai showed consistent growth in visa applications.
Vinay Malhotra, the regional COO of VFS Global for the Middle East and Asia stated that there is no room for the slow pace in smaller cities as many traveling to international countries caused this growth. “Such robust growth in visa applications proves that going onsite is no more a fixed zone for privileged section alone”, he added.
According to the data released by Union tourism ministry, 2.4 crore Indians went on International travel in 2017 whereas 2.2 crore travelers applied in 2016. The ministry confirmed that growth in the past decade is more. There is a prediction from CAPA that by 2025, the growth would be 1.4 crore recreational departures.
