2019 polling witnesses the increase in women voters
Initial glitches in EVMs, long lines, and Election Commission’s inability to mitigate these issues, nothing has stopped the women voters who turned out in large numbers and remained at the polling booths until they could cast their vote.
This times polling has recorded the increase in women voters who queued up at the polling booths despite the scorching sun. Interestingly, several voters who had returned home after waiting for hours at the polling booths, came back to polling stations to exercise their right. When asked about it, they have taken the name of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who appealed to cast their valuable vote at any cost. Is this indicating that women vote bank is in favor with TDP?
Yes, says many of the political analysts. The TDP government has launched many schemes in favor of women like never before. Welfare schemes like DWCRA loans, Pasupu Kumkuma, Chandranna Pelli Kanuka has turned in favor of the TDP government. However, we need to wait until May 23rd to know the facts and figures.
On the other hand, Chief Election Officer Gopal Krishna Dwivedi has declared re-polling at certain polling booths giving a chance to the voters to exercise their right.
