On July 26, the child's mom submitted a missing report to the Tatanagar GRP and the two were detained by police after examining the station's CCTV footage. Two males reportedly raped and beheaded a three-year-old girl after she was kidnapped from a Tatanagar railway station platform in Jharkhand, police said on Wednesday. Tuesday night, police retrieved the girl's torso from some bushes in the Telco police station region and sniffer dogs were pushed into service to find the head, Police Superintendent (Railway) Ehtesham Waquarib said.
The July 26 incident CCTV footage showed a guy walking in his arms with the sleeping child. Recently, the person recognized as Rinku Saha was released from prison after doing time to kidnap a kid and attempt to murder her in 2015. The mom of Saha is a constable and she said that her son was a repeat offender.
Rinku Saha picked up the girl from platform no 1 of the station. Then the accused took her to the ISWP company manufacturing yard in Telco, approximately 4 km from the station. They brutally raped the child and when she stared screaming they beheaded her.
The police used the footage to nab three men, including the two believed to have raped and killed the baby. The mom of the 3-year-old, a divorcee, also allegedly informed the police that she suspected her partner — with whom she traveled from Purulia in West Bengal was also involved in this crime. In the case, he is the third person who was detained.
