After rains receded Nilgiris limps back to normalcy
 
In the Nilgiris the rains have diminished, the equality of normalcy returned to the district. In that 428 mm of rain had registered. While in Gudalur region 149mm of rain recorded up to Sunday.
 
No major incidents of landslides or falling trees have been reported. The district administration and various government departments started the works on the road ensuring of some areas in the district that remained cut off till the weekend.
 
As well as the Gudalur-Sulthan Bathery Road were closed due to the heavy rainfall, but work was on to repair the heavily damaged stretch. Relocation efforts are also underway, as more than 1,000 people in temporary aid shelters have started to go home.
 
The search for a 43-year-old man who went missing and died in a landslip at O-Valley in Gudalur continues.
 
Animal Husbandry Minister Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan visited who were died in during the rains, and distribute the funds for affected people of the victims.
