After Ramesh Kumar, KG Bopaiah to be next Speaker of Karnataka
Ramesh Kumar after submitting his resignation in the Assembly said he was quitting form the post with 'a clear conscience,' latter the vote confidence and passage of finance bill in the House.
Ramesh Kumar’s resignation is usually from the ruling side. The BJP has performed the no-confidence motion against the Speaker Ramesh Kumar, due to that reason he has quit from his post. After resignation, he has given his responsibilities to the Deputy Speaker Krishna Reddy.
Ramesh Kumar said, “I’ve performed my duty as Speaker with honesty, integrity and as per my conscience.” Ramesh Kumar had disqualified 17 Congress and JD(S) MLAs by the anti-party activities.
After the Ramesh Kumar, the next expected speaker is Senior BJP legislator KG Bopaiah by the confidence of CM BSY, Bopaiah is set to get to the post for a second time.
Speaker said, “The schedule has many loopholes. Without electoral reforms, there is no point in talking about curbing corruption.”
Ramesh Kumar said, ”Currently, the Act says MLAs must submit details of their assets and liabilities before June 30. It says nothing about punishing those fail to do it. This is strange. You annul this section or specify punishment,’’ he said.
Ramesh Kumar said ’’Personally, you (Yediyurappa) may be a good person with good intentions, but you should be careful about people around you.’’
