Thokkottu flyover was initiated by the MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. He broke the coconuts at the two sides of the lanes of the flyover and also at Nagabrahma Kattte at Kallapu and prayed for the safety of the commuters.
Talking at the event, Nalin Kumar Kateel stated that there were many allegations for the delay in finishing of the project. “The project was being delayed in the past four years due to technical problems. The company, Navayug was facing financial problems. Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari granted a loan of Rs. 55 crores to compete for the project,” he also said.
“Due to legal issues, the Thokkottu flyover was delayed by two years. The flyover was inaugurated even though some legal issues were still pending as it would be a great relief to the people of Thokkottu and the motorists,” said the MP Nalin Kumar.
Nalin promised that “The beautification of the flyover will be done shortly. Vehicle parking, garden, toilet, and auto parking would be ready in the coming days.”
