The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is likely to open Corridor-3 of the project, as soon as the officials conduct trail runs and are waiting for a safety certification from the commissioner of Metro Railway safety (MRS). If it is opened, it will ease the public to commute between Ameerpet and Hitech City.
Managing Director of HMRL NVS Reddy said, “We are expecting CMRS inspection and safety certification in about a week. After that the inaugural date will decided by the government. Opening of the 10Km Ameerpet to Hi-tech city stretch will be a game-changer for Hyderabad. In the next few years, it will make huge differences in the travel characteristics of the city and improve the competitiveness of Hyderabad.”
It is learnt that on November 29, 2017, the 30 Km stretch between Uppal and Miyapur was inaugurated by Narendra Modi who also took a ride from Miyapur to Kukatpally stations. Managing Director also mentioned that the works related to Corridor-2 between JBS and MGBS are expected to finish by the end of July and system works by November 2019.
