Actress Anushka Sharma showed her support for her cricketer husband Virat Kohli at the Indian Premier League match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Photos of Anushka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru went viral. The actress was seen smiling, clapping, and even looking intense and frowning at times. Anushka was dressed in a white shirt and black pants. She was visibly happy as Virat Kohli hit an impressive half-century against LSG. Kohli, a right-handed batter, scored 61 runs, bringing his IPL century tally to 46. In one of the pictures, Anushka was seen with folded hands looking towards the pitch.
Last month, Anushka praised Kohli for his century against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Anushka commended Kohli for playing through his sickness with composure. She shared a video of Kohli from the test match on Instagram Stories. She wrote, "Playing through sickness with his composure. Inspiring me always." Kohli dedicated his special knock to Anushka.
In a recent conversation with cricketer AB de Villiers, Kohli reminisced about his first meeting with Anushka when he was to shoot an advertisement with her. Kohli revealed that he started shivering when he learned that he was going to work with one of the top actors in India at the time.
Anushka will play the role of legendary former India pacer Jhulan Goswami in the upcoming sports biopic Chakda Xpress. Prosit Roy is directing the film. The film will stream exclusively on Netflix and marks Anushka's comeback after her last release, Zero, in 2018. Anushka's brother Karnesh Sharma will produce Chakda Xpress. It will be under the banner of his home production company, Clean Slate Filmz. This is the first time Anushka will portray a cricketer on the big screen, and fans are eagerly waiting to see her in the role.
