Asaduddin Owaisi takes oath as MP amid chants of Jai Shri Ram in Lok Sabha
President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, took oath on Tuesday as a Member of Parliament amid chants of 'Jai Shri Ram'. Owaisi was also welcomed with the slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram' when he was called to take oath as a Lok Sabha MP.
It is pretty much clear that the chants of Jai Shri Ram was a jibe at West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who has been involved in a bitter battle with the BJP over the same issue.
Previously, Mamata Banerjee had allegedly objected to uttering of the slogans Jai Shri Ram during multiple incidents.
An Independent MP from Amravati, Navneet Rana, reacted to the incident and said, "This is not the right place, temples are there for it. All gods are the equal but targeting someone and taking that name, it's wrong." However these battle seems to have no end in near future.
