Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, another prominent leader and former MP of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Nama Nageswara Rao, resigned from his primary membership on Tuesday and joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) immediately on Thursday. He was then one of the richest MPs in the country with declared assets of Rs 113crore, In December 2018.
Nageswara Rao, who was a member of TDP's Polit Bureau, was welcomed into the TRS by its working president KTR. It is learned that Nageswara Rao was Lok Sabha member from Khammam in Telangana as TDP candidate, had sent a letter to TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, claiming that the survival of TDP in Telangana has become a question in spite of his best efforts.
As per the inside sources, The former MP will most likely contest from the Khammam constituency in the Lok Sabha elections on TRS ticket.
