Australia was better than us in pressure: Virat Kohli!
India lost the 5-match ODI series to Australia 2-3 after failing to chase down 273 in Delhi. This was the second time India had lost a five-match ODI series after taking a 2-0. Australia lost the first two ODIs to trail the five-match series 0-2, before making a gallant fightback to win the final three games. The Last time Australia won an ODI series in India was way back in 2009.
Twice they’ve set a target and then held off an expert chasing team. And in between those wins, Australia chased 358 with several astonishing innings combining for the fifth-highest run chase in ODIs.
"It's exactly how we played in Australia. We were braver in pressure situations purely because they had a series to lose at home and we went out there and expressed ourselves. You have to give credit to them; they are a younger side and they showed more heart than us. Winning a series like that in India is good for their confidence. We know we didn't play as well as they did, The last three games were all about giving the fringe guys some chances, but that's not an excuse at all" Kohli said at the post-match press conference.
Australia coach Justin Langer said, “All the credit goes to the players, they have performed in the crunch situations.”
