Bengaluru turnouts to 51%, other areas 68% of polling in Karnataka
Karnataka in the first stage of polling in 14 constituencies of Southern Karnataka has been completed with serene. The fortune of three members of Gowda family - former PM HD.Deve Gowda and his two grandsons - Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda and independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh was secured on Thursday.
Especially in the Mandya are caught maximum attention in this years election where CM HD.Kumaraswamy”s son Nikhil Kumar and late actor Aambareesh’s wife Sumalatha had been tug-of-war. This area registered 80% polling. Since 1950s the highest in the state for parliamentary polls. Women turned out in mammoth in Mandya for this elections. Also the clash between followers of both these constestants also registered.
Bengaluru's voting is said to be a straggler as the voting percentage is lower than 2014's voting percentage which was 56%. The city registered around 51% which is way lower than Karnataka's stage average which is 68%. Districts other than Bengaluru ranged the voting percentage between 68 to 80 %.
