BSNL, the telecom company which is once the only service provider in the market is currently facing a financial crisis. Reportedly, the company is not able to pay its employees as it lacked enough funds. The news that the company is not paying the employees from the past three months has spread fast.
On this note, the employees have requested the government to take necessary actions immediately as many employees are going through an unexpected crisis. This government-owned telecommunications company has never seen such a crisis. The employees have also complained that they haven't received the salary for the month of February and the contractual workers in a few states haven't received money from the past 6 months.
The company was said to be in debts which are calculated to be about Rs.13,900 crores and has already appealed the government for fresh funds. However, the government disagreed with the proposal of getting loans for the company. With the increase in the competition between the telecom companies, BSNL is facing tough times seeing a drastic decrease in customers.
