With Dhobi Ghat, Kiran Rao have made a solid directorial debut (2011). With her then-husband, superstar Aamir Khan, playing a supporting part, Kriti Malhotra co-starred in the slice-of-life movie. She is returning with another intriguing movie 11 years later. Contrary to her previous movie, which was a niche entertainer, this one is predicted to be a comedy. And Aamir Khan has rejoined the project once more, this time as a producer.

According to the source,  The Central Railway recently disclosed that they have made Rs. 2.48 crores during the latest financial year by renting out various locations and train cars for filming. It is the highest money that Central Railway has ever made from movie productions. It is interesting to know that out of Rs. 2.48 crores, Rs. 1.27 crores were generated by just one movie, Kiran Rao's Next! In other words, one movie contributed over half of the railway zone's earnings. The film's line producer, Amit Kulkarni of Ekdant Films, exclusively revealed that "The film was mainly shot on railway premises. The whole movie was shot over the course of 48 to 50 days, 24 of which were spent on railroad sites.

We shot the movie near Yeola railway station, said Amit Kulkarni, who has previously worked on The Empire, Rocket Boys, The Fame Game, Abhay Season 2, Abhay Season 3, Aafat-E-Ishq, and Jamtara and the upcoming Jamtara 2. It is around 100 kilometers from Nashik City and situated in Maharashtra's Nashik district. In the Maharashtra district of Ahmednagar, Kanhegaon Railway Station served as the backdrop for a part of the movie. These two stations are new locations. These locations have never been used to make a movie. Filmmakers typically choose shooting near Apta station, where several movies have been shot throughout the years.

What's amazing is that amidst pandemic restrictions, Central Railway managed to bring in the highest money ever from filming in the most recent year, exceeding the previous record-breaking earnings of Rs. 1.73 crores set in 2013–14. It even managed to generate money in the year prior (2020–2021), totaling Rs. 41.16 lakhs.
