Chandrababu’s much touted and much hyped Delhi Deeksha has ended up as a farce. He managed to manipulate National Leaders around India and big names from Delhi, but key parties from his own state have refused to rally around him. Staging a day-long dharna in the National Capital for Special Status for Andhra Pradesh, CM Chandrababu on Monday hinted that he would open to a post-alliance with regional rival YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy to keep the BJP away. Speaking to media, Naidu said, “If at all he (Jagan) wins any seats, let him come and support us, nothing wrong in it.”
Many opposition leaders including Manmohan Singh, Digvijaya Singh, Kamal Nath and Anand Sharma (Congress), Sharad Pawar (NCP), Mulayam Singh (SP), Sharad Yadav (LJD), Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), Trinamool and the left members and the others supported Naidu’s Delhi Deeksha. All of them registered their protest against the government for not giving special status and other post-bifurcation economic packages to Andhra as promised by Parliament. But apart from the above National Leaders, Regional leaders like YSRCP president Jagan and Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan didn’t support Naidu’s Dharma Porata Deeksha. The YSRCP has already announced it wouldn’t become part of Naidu’s rally. The Janasena chief also gave a hard reply about this Deeksha. They didn’t support Naidu because they are not sure that Babu will stick to the same stand tomorrow.
