In their first home match of the season, Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets. Chasing 177, Gayle gave them a perfect start with his 40 off 24 as Rahul was troubling to score from the other side.
Mumbai looked like they have pulled things back a bit after Gayle’s dismissal by Pandya brothers but Mayank Agarwal played a fantastic inning that took the game away from the visitors scoring 43 from 21 and it seemed enough for Rahul to gain his lost form and guided Punjab to a home along with Miller.
Mumbai Indians who were put in to bat, gone off to a flier with Rohit’s quick 32 and Decock’s but Rohit was out for an adjudged LBW. After that Surya Kumar, Yuvraj and Pollard failed to accompany decock who fell after scoring a very good 60.
Pandya again showed his power scoring 31 off 19 as Mumbai scored a just par score of 176. Shami, Viljeon and M Ashwin shared two wickets each and Mayank Agarwal was awarded the Man of the Match for his blistering 43 runs.
