CLP leader Siddaramaiah may become the leader of opposition by default
Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah reacted on the trust vote motion, he said CM BS Yediyurappa has won the confidence motion in the Legislative assembly. “The party high command has asked Siddaramaiah to be the opposition leader. But his contention in the post will all depend on party legislators,” Siddaramaiah said.
Party source said, “The CLP chief would by default become the opposition leader, but with senior leader DK Shivakumar centering the fray, the apt has seriously considered seeking the opinion of its MLAs before taking a final call.”
The party sources said, “Both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar meet the criterion of being popular with the masses so we will deal with this issue democratically,” an MLA stated the senior congress leader in Delhi as saying.
The CLP leader Siddaramaiah will become the Leader of Opposition by default due to the Congress has 67 MLAs. It is the huge opposition in the Assembly. While the JD(S) has 34 MLAs.
