CM BS Yediyurappa asks officials to Ramp up flood rescue operations
Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa will hold the aerial survey of flood-affected districts in Krishna basin. CM has finalised plans on assigning a council of ministers, debated with deputy commissioners of Belagavi, Bagalkot, Raichur, Yadgir and Vijayapura districts, Yediyurappa took the decision on that situation and said to officers to implement rescue and relief operations on a war footing.
CM said, “Rescue people stranded in floods on priority and provide them food, clothing, blankets and other amenities,” he told. And also release more water from its reservoir due to heavy rainfall over the two days.
BSY said, “Personnel from fire services, police, revenue, and other departments have also been asked to take part in rescue operations,” he said. CM’s sudden have to visit New Delhi for a meeting, while Congress leader HK Patil urged the CM to cancel his plans to visit Delhi due to help people affected by floods, he said.
Patil said in the letter, “The situation is very grim as thousands of people are affected by floods.” He also added “You should be visiting flood-affected areas before visiting Delhi. Also, get Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit these places.”
CM BSY has reacted to Patil statements, “My government is committed to responding to the problems of the people and in emergency situations,” he replied.
