CM Edappadi and MK Stalin join hands against privatization of Salem Steel Plant
CM Edappadi K. Palaniswmai guaranteed the Assembly that the AIADMK will extend the aid to the Opposition DMK and Congress to oppose the proposed privatization of the Salem Steel Plant.
Mr. Palaniswami also agreed with the advice of DMK president and Leader of Opposition M.K. Stalin to share the deputation of MPs from all parties to call on PM and Minister concerned against the privatization move. Mr. Palanswmai said that MPs from AIADMK, DMK, and Congress shall call on the PM and Minister concerned to give out a representation detailing the reasons for opposing the privatization of the Steel plant.
The Chief Minister said “So, as you (Mr. Stalin) suggested, our (AIADMK MPs, as well as your (DMK) MPs, should join and call on the PM and the Minister concerned, to insist that the proposal be dropped. Let us mount pressure.”
Mr. Stalin expressed that Salem Steel plant was a project for which Ex- CM C. N. Annadurai worked hard. Although Industries Minister M.C. Sampath said that the ruling AIADMK accepted with the Opposition on the controversial issue.
