Coimbatore International airport gets sniffer dog squad.
 
The central industrial Security Force(CISF) which guard Coimbatore Airport has got it's first ever dog squad from explosives detection. Coimbatore airport also became the first airport to have inducted six dogs at a time to its security.
 
The dog squad comprising six trained dogs, six trainers and six assistant trainers was inducted to Central Industrial Security Force unit for the airport.
 
While six dogs will be used for detecting explosives in and out of the airport, the Cocker Spaniel which is small in size will be used to detecting explosives inside aircraft.
 
Those dogs will be deployed for duty in shifts, an air condition kennel has been constructed for the dogs in the airport premises. Apart from timely training and food, the dogs will have weekly veterinary checkup.
