Congress annoyed that 'Chaiwala’ bringing reforms: Modi
PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the Congress was annoyed that a 'chaiwala' was bringing about reforms in the country. He added, "When inflation was breaking the back of the middle class, the Congress was thinking 'hua to hua'."
Addressing an election meeting in favor of party's outgoing MP Kirron Kher, Modi made these comments. For the past few days, Modi was highly criticized by all his opposition over his 'cloud radar theory' and his 'digital camera' statement. The opposition leaders, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and most importantly Mayawati took a jibe at the Prime Minister for the past few days.
While everyone is waiting for Modi’s response, Modi said: "The Congress has always insulted middle class and honest taxpayers, whereas our government has given respect to the middle class. For the first time in history, income tax for salary up to Rs 5 lakh has been made tax-free," trying to woo the working class of the 'City Beautiful.'
