Congress leaders protest against BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’ scheme
The Congress leaders staged a protest at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in between the Vidhana Soudha and Vikas Soudha accusing BJP of executing 'Operation Kamala and trying to attract over 13 rebels Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition MLAs. This protest is led by Siddaramaiah. In Vidhana Sudha several Congress leaders from State Legislative Assembly, Rajya Sabha, and Lok Sabha participated.
Siddaramaiah said, “This is clearly planned strategy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief and Home Minister Amit Shah. The duo dis indulged in ‘Operation Lotus’ and trying to destabilize the State coalition of Congress-Janata Dal ((D).” He also said “BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’ is evident because the rebel MLAs have flown to Mumbai on the same flight and are now trapped. They are together in a hotel. We have taken it as an anti-party move.”
He criticized the BJP for using “money power” of Congress MLAs. In the protest headed by CLP leader Siddaramaiah and Karnataka State Congress in-charge K C Venugopal, Home Minister M B Patil, KPCC Secretary Eshwara Khadre, a leader such H K Patil, SR Patil and various leaders partook.
