Another Jolt to the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh came from Lok Sabha Member Pandula Ravindra Babu. He quit the party on Monday from Amalapuram and joined the main opposition YSR congress. It is learnt that Ravindra Babu was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 2014.
Pandula Ravindra Babu, who is represented Amalapuram SC constituency in East Godavari District met YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday and joined formally in the YSRCP. It is a fresh blow to TDP. This comes just four days after Anakapalli MP Srinivas Rao joined hands with YSRCP.
After meeting Jagan, Ravindra Babu while speaking to reporters in Hyderabad says that, “The party never gave me the attention that I deserved because it is caste biased. For 13 years Kotipalli – Narsapur railway line was in cold-storage, But I accomplished that project. Due to my constant efforts, Rs2000 cr was sanctioned and 3 bridges were built. Yet Naidu didn’t appreciate me.
Ravindra Babu also criticised Naidu that he is ditching AP people in special economic package after several flip-flops on special category status and praised Jagan Mohan Reddy that Jagan took a constituent stand on the Special category status issue.
If this country has to progress, a casteist party like TDP should be destroyed, Ravindra added. Apart from Ravindra babu another Congress leader Channadas joined YSRCP on Monday.
