Cricketer Venugopal Rao gets No Match Ticket from ACA!
Cricketer Venugopal Rao getting back to back blows from Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association (ACA). ACA officials don’t have any emotional attachment with their players. Earlier, it is learned that Yalaka Venugopal Rao who has 7000 First Class Runs under his belt couldn’t enter into Andhra Ranji Team. The 36-year Old Venugopal, who is only the second Andhra Player to don the Indian Colours.
And now recently ACA officials gave another blow to Venugopal Rao. He doesn’t get invited on to an international match hosted by his own state association in his own city. It is learned that the former cricketer grew up in Vizag and represented Andhra with Distinction before playing for other states, claimed that ACA didn’t offer him complimentary tickets for international games.
On Saturday through a reputed media, Venugopal said, “ Sometimes I feel what was the use of representing the country when they don’t even respect me in my state. Most of the times, Ranji Players come and ask me for tickets. It’s got embarrassing since I myself don’t get one. The ACA has never invited me to any match. I have been felicitated by them in the past, but they never bothered to give me tickets.”
Venugopal played 16 ODI’s for India and has the distinction of being the country’s first ‘Super Sub’ in an ODI. It is noted that he also represented Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL.
