The much-awaited opening match of the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League might excite the Chennai fans but taste bitter to RCB fan and all cricket lovers. It was because RCB has posted the lowest ever total in an IPL kick-off match, just 70 runs on the board.
King Kohli perished as the first wicket and after that, except Parthiv Patel, none of the RCB batsmen has gone past above 10 runs. In that slow track, Tahir and Bhajji shared three each and Jadeja got 2 while Bravo finished the miserable performance from RCB.
Chennai took 17.4 overs to score that cheap total and this tells us the condition of the pitch. Chahal bowled brilliantly for his 4-1-6-1 but that was not enough to pull out a miracle. Watson has gone for a duck at the start but Raina and Rayudu played patiently scoring 28 and 19 respectively. Jadhav and Jadeja finished the things off and the whole Chennai roared with the mighty win.
With demons in the pitch, it has become RCB impossible to beat the defending champions and the best of all time IPL. Today we have dual combat with Kolkata taking on last year Runner-ups Sun risers Hyderabad and Mumbai will host Delhi in the second match at Wankhede.
